Introduction
The virtual network detail page shows the current state, configuration, connected applications, and activity for a single virtual network. Use it to verify that a virtual network is online, inspect its IP and routing configuration, and diagnose issues.Open the Detail Page
- In the sidebar, click Infrastructure > Workloads > Virtual Networks.
- Click the name of a virtual network to open its detail page.
Overview Tab
The Overview tab provides a summary of the virtual network’s current state and key configuration.Status ribbon
The ribbon across the top of the Overview tab shows six values at a glance.Interfaces and routes
This section shows counts of the virtual interfaces (VIFs), assigned adapters, static routes, and IP routes reported for the virtual network. When EVE-OS (Edge Virtualization Engine) reports bridge details, the section also shows the bridge name, bridge IP address, and bridge number. Click View bridge to open the Bridge subtab of the Configuration tab. Click View all events to open the Events page filtered to this virtual network.Project and record
This section shows the project the virtual network belongs to, the edge node it is deployed on, and when it was last updated. Click View details to open the Details tab.Network settings
This section shows whether the virtual network is the device default network, whether it propagates connected routes, and its MTU. Click View configuration to open the Configuration tab.Details Tab
The Details tab shows the full set of identity and state fields across two cards.Identity
This card shows the full identity of the virtual network: ID, Name, Title, Description, Project, Node, Node ID, Cluster (if the virtual network is deployed to a cluster), Kind, Network policy (if a policy is assigned), Network ID, Network name, and Tags.State and audit
This card shows the current run state, uptime, and when the virtual network was created and last updated. See Run States for the full list of possible values.Configuration Tab
The Configuration tab shows the virtual network’s full configuration as reported by EVE-OS. It has up to four subtabs, depending on what is configured.Network subtab
The Network subtab shows the IP addressing and uplink configuration. For Local virtual networks, this subtab shows the DHCP type, subnet, gateway, DHCP range, DNS servers, name server, NTP server, domain, uplink interface, MTU, whether the virtual network is the default network, and whether it propagates connected routes. For Switch virtual networks, this subtab shows the port, domain, name server, NTP server, uplink interface, MTU, whether it is the default network, and whether it propagates connected routes.Interfaces subtab
The Interfaces subtab appears when the node has reported active interfaces for the virtual network. It shows two tables.- Virtual interfaces: lists each VIF with its name, MAC address, IP address, and the application instance it belongs to.
- Assigned adapters: lists the physical adapters directly assigned to the virtual network.
Routes subtab
The Routes subtab appears when routes are configured or reported. It shows two tables.- Static routes: the routes you configured when creating or updating the virtual network, each with its destination prefix and gateway.
- IP routes: the runtime routes reported by EVE-OS, each with a destination network, gateway, port, and gateway application. IP routes are only shown for Local virtual networks.
Bridge subtab
The Bridge subtab appears when EVE-OS has reported bridge details for the virtual network. It shows the bridge number, bridge name, and bridge IP address assigned by EVE-OS to the virtual network’s internal bridge interface.Used by Tab
The Used by tab shows a table of all application instances currently using the virtual network. The table shows each application’s name (click to open the application detail page), type (Virtual Machine, Container, or Module), node, and current status. If no applications are connected, the tab shows a message indicating the virtual network is not in use.Run States
The run state indicates the current condition of the virtual network as reported by EVE-OS. The state appears in the page header, the status ribbon, and the State and audit card on the Details tab.
A newly created virtual network typically progresses from Unprovisioned through Provisioned and Initializing to Online as EVE-OS receives and applies the configuration. If the virtual network image must be downloaded first, Downloading appears between Provisioned and Initializing. If the virtual network stays in Provisioned, Downloading, or Initializing for an extended period, verify that the node is online and reachable.
