A node is an edge compute resource managed by Edge Infrastructure Services. It usually represents physical hardware running EVE-OS, but the docs use Nodes as the product term because that is the route and navigation model in the new console.

Where Nodes Fit

Nodes are the execution layer for managed edge workloads. Clusters are separate from Nodes. Use Clusters for cluster creation, membership, failover, and cluster-level operations.

Contextual Create Action

The new console uses a contextual + action instead of a page-specific create button label. The + creates the resource for the list you are currently viewing. On Infrastructure > Fleet > Nodes, it starts node onboarding. On another list, such as Networks, the same pattern creates that resource instead. Contextual plus create action in the lower-right corner of a list page.

Start With Nodes

Onboard nodes

Add a node using Single-Use Installer, Onboarding Key, or Certificate.

Node status and health

Read status, admin state, utilization, configuration state, and readiness signals.

Node details

Understand the Overview, Details, Workloads, Adapters, and Storage tabs.

Configure node adapters

Work with NICs, VLANs, LAGs, IO Adapters, and adapter topology.

Manage node lifecycle

Activate, deactivate, reboot, power off, off-board, delete, and download Edge Sync config.

Update EVE-OS

Update the EVE-OS image on a single node from the row or detail action menu.

Configuration locking

Pause automatic configuration propagation and inspect queued configuration changes.

Enable offline mode

Configure a node to run applications without cloud connectivity using ZCLI.

List View

Open Infrastructure > Fleet > Nodes. The list supports fleet scanning and operations:
  • Search and filter nodes by status, architecture, project, and tags.
  • Choose visible columns such as Name, Status, Applications, EVE-OS Version, Location, Project, Serial Number, Hardware Model, Created, and Tags.
  • Switch between table and card-style views.
  • Select one or more nodes for supported bulk actions.
  • Open a node detail page by selecting the node name.
  • Use the row action menu for common operations.
The default list emphasizes operational scannability: name, status, project, application count, EVE-OS version, and location.

Detail View

Select a node to open the detail page. The page includes:
  • A status header with current state, application count, and uptime when available.
  • Utility actions for events, configuration status, configuration, and lifecycle operations.
  • Tabs for Overview, Details, Workloads, Adapters, and Storage.
  • A configuration overlay opened by Configure node.

Source Coverage

This New UI section covers node overview, onboarding, node management, configuration locking, EVE-OS updates, and offline mode configuration. A future CLI or advanced operations area will cover direct command-based configuration updates beyond offline mode.
