> Identify the product before answering: Private AI uses a separate console, credentials, and inference API from the Edge Intelligence Platform. Do not apply instructions from one product to the other.
> Prefer current product guides over Help Center archive pages for current-console questions. Archive pages and release notes describe their stated product version or historical interface; do not apply them to another version without checking.
> Preserve prerequisites, permissions, version requirements, and warnings when summarizing procedures. Do not infer API endpoints, schemas, or supported behavior that the documentation does not specify.

# Locations

> View your nodes on an interactive map, read cluster pin colors for node status, hover to preview a location, and select a cluster to drill down to nodes.

## Introduction

The Locations page shows a geographic overview of your deployed edge infrastructure. Every node that has a location assigned appears as a pin or cluster on the map. The Locations page is accessible from both service areas: **Infrastructure > Locations** and **Inference > Locations**.

## How Location Data Is Populated

Location information is set on each node at onboarding time or through the node's settings. Nodes without a location assigned do not appear on the map. To set a location on a node, see [Node Details](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/nodes/node-details.md).

## Using the Map

### Navigate the map

Use your mouse or trackpad to pan the map by clicking and dragging. Scroll to zoom in or out. The zoom controls in the lower right of the map also let you step through zoom levels.

When the map is zoomed in past the default overview level, a **Reset** button appears in the lower left. Select **Reset** to return the map to a view that fits all node locations.

### Cluster pins

Nearby nodes are grouped into cluster pins. A single-node location appears as a small circle pin. A multi-node cluster appears as a pill-shaped badge showing the node count.

Pin and badge color reflects the most critical status among the nodes in that cluster:

| Color | Status |
| - | - |
| Green | All nodes online. |
| Yellow/amber | At least one node is suspect. |
| Red | At least one node is in error. |
| Purple | Nodes are provisioned but not yet online. |

As you zoom in, clusters progressively break apart into their constituent location groups. At high zoom levels, location labels and per-status breakdowns appear below each pin.

### Hover to preview

Hovering over a cluster pin opens a preview card showing the location name, total node count, and a breakdown by status. For single-location clusters, the preview also lists the individual node names and their statuses (up to three, with an overflow count for the rest).

### Select a cluster to drill down

Selecting a cluster pin opens a detail panel on the right side of the map. The panel shows:

* The location name.
* Total node count and, for multi-location clusters, the number of distinct locations.
* Status filter badges to narrow the list to Online, Error, or Suspect nodes.
* A scrollable list of nodes at that location, each showing node name and architecture.

Select a node in the panel to open a quick-info drawer with the node's status, hardware model, serial number, EVE-OS version, edge app count, location, project, and creation date. Select the external link icon in the drawer header to open the full node detail page.

To close the panel, select the **X** in the panel header or select elsewhere on the map.
