> Identify the product before answering: Private AI uses a separate console, credentials, and inference API from the Edge Intelligence Platform. Do not apply instructions from one product to the other.
> Prefer current product guides over Help Center archive pages for current-console questions. Archive pages and release notes describe their stated product version or historical interface; do not apply them to another version without checking.
> Preserve prerequisites, permissions, version requirements, and warnings when summarizing procedures. Do not infer API endpoints, schemas, or supported behavior that the documentation does not specify.

# Feature Sunset Policy

> Learn how ZEDEDA handles feature removal and breaking changes, including the 6-month notice period, migration support, and how to request an extension.

## Introduction

This policy defines how ZEDEDA handles feature removal, breaking changes, and product discontinuation. It describes the minimum notice period customers can expect, the support ZEDEDA provides during migration, and the process for requesting extensions.

*Last reviewed: May 2026*

## Our Promise

If ZEDEDA removes a feature you depend on, you will receive at least 6 months' notice, the feature will continue working during that period, and ZEDEDA will help you migrate. You will not be left without a path forward.

## What This Covers

This policy applies when ZEDEDA:

* Removes a feature from the product.
* Changes a feature in a way that breaks how you currently use it.
* Discontinues a product entirely.

**What counts as a breaking change:** Any change to a documented API contract, configuration schema, or product workflow that requires you to take action to continue operating normally.

**Not covered:**

* Beta or preview features, which are labeled as such in the product and in release notes.
* Security fixes that require ZEDEDA to disable something immediately to protect customers (see the [security exception](#security-exception)).

If a feature's status is unclear, contact your account team.

## Notice Period

ZEDEDA will notify you at least 6 months before a feature stops working. The notice will be delivered through three channels simultaneously:

* An email to your account's primary contact.
* A notice on the ZEDEDA Help Center.
* A banner in the product itself, displayed wherever the affected feature is used.

The notice will include the exact removal date, the reason for removal, and what to use instead.

During the 6-month notice period, the feature continues to work exactly as it does at the time of the notice. ZEDEDA will not degrade it and will continue to fix bugs that affect you.

### Security exception

In rare cases, a security vulnerability may require ZEDEDA to disable a feature immediately. ZEDEDA will notify you within 24 hours, explain the reason, and — once the issue is resolved — restore the feature or provide a clear path forward.

## Migration Support

In most cases, the feature being removed is being replaced by something better that is already shipping. ZEDEDA will publish a migration guide and answer questions directly. If your migration is non-trivial, ZEDEDA will work through it with you in a call. There is no additional charge for migration support.

## Requesting an Extension

Sometimes 6 months is not enough. You might have a long planning cycle, a regulated environment, or a coupled system that needs to change with us. If that happens, contact ZEDEDA as soon as you know. ZEDEDA will confirm in writing within 10 business days whether an extension is possible, and work out a plan with you. This may include keeping the feature running for your account specifically while you complete migration. We have not yet met a customer for whom we could not find a workable answer.

## Policy Governance

This policy is owned by the ZEDEDA Product Management team and reviewed annually. Enterprise customers may negotiate specific sunset protections in their Master Subscription Agreement (MSA). Where an MSA provision conflicts with this policy, the MSA governs. If ZEDEDA makes a material change to this policy that reduces customer protections, 90 days' notice will be provided before the change takes effect.
