> Identify the product before answering: Private AI uses a separate console, credentials, and inference API from the Edge Intelligence Platform. Do not apply instructions from one product to the other.
> Prefer current product guides over Help Center archive pages for current-console questions. Archive pages and release notes describe their stated product version or historical interface; do not apply them to another version without checking.
> Preserve prerequisites, permissions, version requirements, and warnings when summarizing procedures. Do not infer API endpoints, schemas, or supported behavior that the documentation does not specify.

# Import Hardware Models

> Import hardware model definitions from the ZEDEDA hardware catalog into your enterprise library.

Hardware models define the hardware specifications, adapter configuration, and [PCR attestation templates](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/marketplace/manage-pcr-templates.md) used when onboarding and managing nodes. You can import ready-made hardware models from the ZEDEDA hardware catalog into your enterprise library.

## Prerequisites

* You have the SysManager or SysAdmin role in your enterprise. See [Manage Roles](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/administration/manage-roles.md).

## Import a Hardware Model from the Catalog

1. In the sidebar, select **Marketplace**.
2. Navigate to **Marketplace home** and use the search or browse to find a hardware model, or select a catalog item directly.
3. On the hardware model detail page, select **Import** to add it to your enterprise library.

The imported model appears in My Library under the **Hardware** filter tab with the origin label "Imported."

## Create a Custom Hardware Model

Creating hardware models from scratch is available to cluster and CSP administrators only. For the full workflow, including SSH-based hardware discovery, see [Create a Custom Hardware Model](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/marketplace/create-custom-hardware-model.md).

## Hardware Model Origin Labels

| Label | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Built-in** | Provided by ZEDEDA. Read-only. |
| **Imported** | Imported from the hardware catalog. Configuration is read-only; PCR attestation templates on the Attestation tab are editable. |
| **Local** | Created by your enterprise. Fully editable. |
| **GLOBAL** | Created by a cluster or CSP admin and published to the catalog. Available for all tenants to import. |
