> Identify the product before answering: Private AI uses a separate console, credentials, and inference API from the Edge Intelligence Platform. Do not apply instructions from one product to the other.
> Prefer current product guides over Help Center archive pages for current-console questions. Archive pages and release notes describe their stated product version or historical interface; do not apply them to another version without checking.
> Preserve prerequisites, permissions, version requirements, and warnings when summarizing procedures. Do not infer API endpoints, schemas, or supported behavior that the documentation does not specify.

# Configure the Rancher Integration

> Connect Edge Infrastructure Services to Rancher for remote orchestration of clusters.

The Rancher integration connects Edge Infrastructure Services to a Rancher endpoint so you can manage clusters through Rancher's remote orchestration capabilities. After you add the integration, Edge Infrastructure Services registers with your Rancher instance using the authentication credentials you provide.

## Introduction

This procedure covers how to add and manage a Rancher integration. Use this integration when your organization uses Rancher to orchestrate Kubernetes workloads and you want Edge Infrastructure Services to connect to it as a managed cluster target.

## Prerequisites

* You have the SysAdmin role in your enterprise. See [Manage Roles](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/administration/manage-roles.md).
* Your enterprise has the Rancher Integration entitlement enabled. If **Rancher** does not appear in the **Integration Type** dropdown, your enterprise does not have this entitlement. Contact your ZEDEDA administrator. See [Admin Dashboard](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/administration/admin-dashboard.md) for entitlement details.
* A Rancher instance is running and reachable from Edge Infrastructure Services.
* You have either an API token or a username and password for your Rancher instance.

## Add the Rancher Integration

1. In the header, select your profile avatar, then select **Enterprise**.

2. In the Enterprise Settings navigation, select **Integrations**.

3. Select **Add Integration**.

4. In the **Name** field, enter a descriptive name for this integration.

5. In the **Integration Category** dropdown, select **Remote Orchestration**.

6. In the **Integration Type** dropdown, select **Rancher**.

7. In the **Endpoint URL** field, enter the URL of your Rancher instance, for example `https://rancher.example.com`.

8. In the **Authentication Type** dropdown, select one of the following:

   * **API Token**: Use a Rancher API token. Enter the token in the **API Token** field.
   * **Credentials**: Use a username and password. Enter your **Username** and **Password**.

9. Select **Add Integration**.

The integration appears in the Integrations list.

## Manage the Integration

### Remove an integration

To remove the Rancher integration, select the delete button on the integration row in the **Integrations** list.
