> Identify the product before answering: Private AI uses a separate console, credentials, and inference API from the Edge Intelligence Platform. Do not apply instructions from one product to the other.
> Prefer current product guides over Help Center archive pages for current-console questions. Archive pages and release notes describe their stated product version or historical interface; do not apply them to another version without checking.
> Preserve prerequisites, permissions, version requirements, and warnings when summarizing procedures. Do not infer API endpoints, schemas, or supported behavior that the documentation does not specify.

# Integrations and Automation

> Connect Edge Infrastructure Services to Azure IoT Hub, manage configuration as code with the ZEDEDA Terraform Provider, and set up Splunk or Rancher.

## Introduction

Edge Infrastructure Services supports three integration paths for connecting your edge infrastructure to external systems and automating management workflows.

## Azure IoT Hub

Edge Infrastructure Services integrates with Microsoft Azure IoT Hub through the **Azure IoT project** type. When you create an Azure IoT project, ZEDEDA connects your nodes to Azure Device Provisioning Service (DPS), enabling zero-touch device provisioning and Azure IoT Edge runtime management directly from the ZEDEDA console. You can deploy Azure IoT Edge modules, manage certificate lifecycles, and define module deployment policies without leaving Edge Infrastructure Services.

You configure Azure IoT projects in the **Projects** section of the Infrastructure sidebar.

* [Create an Azure IoT Project](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/integrations-and-automation/azure-iot-hub.md): Create and configure an Azure IoT project, link it to your Azure DPS and IoT Hub, and enroll nodes.
* [Deploy an Azure IoT Application](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/integrations-and-automation/azure-iot-app-deployment.md): Deploy the Azure IoT Edge runtime application to an enrolled node.
* [Manage Azure IoT Certificates](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/integrations-and-automation/azure-certificate-management.md): Upload signing certificates, manage device CA certificate lifecycle, and respond to certificate expiry events.
* [Manage Azure Module Policies](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/integrations-and-automation/azure-module-policies.md): View and manage Azure IoT Edge module deployment policies applied to a project from Azure IoT Hub.

## ZEDEDA Terraform Provider

The ZEDEDA Terraform Provider lets you define and manage your Edge Infrastructure Services configuration as code. The provider is a CLI-based external tool that runs on your local system or automation environment and communicates with Edge Infrastructure Services through its API. There is no Terraform interface in the ZEDEDA console itself.

Use the Terraform Provider when you need repeatable, version-controlled infrastructure definitions, integration with CI/CD pipelines, or management of large numbers of nodes and applications without using the console or ZCLI.

* [ZEDEDA Terraform Provider](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/integrations-and-automation/terraform-provider.md): Set up authentication, understand provider capabilities and limitations, configure object dependencies, and import existing resources.
* [Rename Terraform Objects](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/integrations-and-automation/rename-terraform-objects.md): Safely rename Terraform-managed ZEDEDA objects without unintentional deletion of dependent resources.

## Enterprise Integrations

You configure enterprise-level integrations (Splunk, OpenTelemetry, Rancher, VMware VCO, and VMware TMC) in **Enterprise Settings**. These integrations forward telemetry, metrics, and events from Edge Infrastructure Services to external observability and orchestration platforms.

Rancher and VMware TMC require entitlements. They appear in the **Integration Type** dropdown only when the corresponding entitlement is enabled for your enterprise. VMware VCO does not require a separate entitlement. See [Admin Dashboard](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/administration/admin-dashboard.md) for entitlement details.

Configuration procedures for each integration type:

* [Configure the Splunk Integration](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/integrations-and-automation/splunk-integration.md)
* [Configure the OpenTelemetry Integration](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/integrations-and-automation/opentelemetry-integration.md)
* [Configure the Rancher Integration](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/integrations-and-automation/rancher-integration.md)

For VMware VCO and VMware TMC, see [Enterprise Settings](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/administration/enterprise-settings.md).
