> Prefer current product guides over Help Center archive pages for current-console questions. Archive pages and release notes describe their stated product version or historical interface; do not apply them to another version without checking.

# Infrastructure Quick Start

> The minimal steps to get up and running with Edge Infrastructure Services or ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes Service.

## Introduction

This article describes the minimal steps required to get a working setup in Edge Infrastructure Services or ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes Service. Follow the path that matches your goal.

## Prerequisites

* A ZEDEDA user account. If you do not have one, see [Get Started with the Self-Service Trial Program](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/start/self-service-trial.md).
* A web browser.

## Quick Start for Edge Infrastructure Services

Edge Infrastructure Services provides EVE-OS (Edge Virtualization Engine) based node management, workload orchestration, and application deployment at the edge.

**1. Prepare EVE-OS**

Download EVE-OS and flash it to your edge device. Follow [Get EVE-OS](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/eve-os-installation/get-eve-os.md) and [Flash an EVE-OS image](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/eve-os-installation/flash-eve-os-image.md).

**2. Onboard your node**

Register your edge device with Edge Infrastructure Services. After onboarding, the device is referred to as a node. Follow [Onboard Nodes](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/nodes/onboard-nodes.md).

**3. Prepare your application**

Choose the path that matches your application:

* **Build an app image:** Create an image from your container image, VM image, or binary artifact. Follow [Build Images and Bundles](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/build-and-library.md).
* **Import from the Marketplace:** Browse pre-built applications from ZEDEDA and third-party providers, then import one to your library. Follow [Edge Apps](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/marketplace/edge-apps.md).

**4. Deploy to your node**

Run the application on your onboarded node. Follow [Deploy an Application Instance](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/applications/deploy-an-application-instance.md).

## Quick Start for ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes Service

ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes Service lets you manage Kubernetes clusters across distributed edge infrastructure through GitOps. You can create a cluster from onboarded nodes or import an existing third-party Kubernetes cluster.

### Starting with onboarded nodes

If you have existing nodes already onboarded in Edge Infrastructure Services:

**1. Create your cluster**

Use your existing nodes to create a ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes Service cluster. Follow [Edge Kubernetes Operations](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/edge-kubernetes/edge-kubernetes-operations.md).

**2. Deploy with GitOps**

Deploy applications to the cluster using [GitOps](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/edge-kubernetes/gitops-delivery.md).

### Starting with an existing non-ZEDEDA Kubernetes cluster

If you have an existing Kubernetes cluster that is not managed by ZEDEDA:

**1. Import your cluster**

Bring your existing cluster into ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes Service. Follow [Edge Kubernetes Operations](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/edge-kubernetes/edge-kubernetes-operations.md).

**2. Deploy with GitOps**

Deploy applications to the cluster using [GitOps](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/edge-kubernetes/gitops-delivery.md).

### Starting with no onboarded nodes

If you do not have any nodes onboarded yet, complete the [Quick Start for Edge Infrastructure Services](#quick-start-for-edge-infrastructure-services) first, then return to [starting with onboarded nodes](#starting-with-onboarded-nodes).
