# Manage Kubernetes Cluster Groupings

> Create and manage cluster groupings to organize multiple Kubernetes clusters as a single unit.

## Introduction

> [!NOTE]
>
> The **Cluster Groupings** tab is not currently surfaced in the Unified UI. This feature is temporarily hidden while it is finalized. The workflow described on this page applies when the tab is available.

Cluster groupings let you view and manage multiple Kubernetes clusters as a single unit within ZEDEDA Edge Kubernetes Service. A cluster grouping is a named collection of clusters that share a common purpose or deployment profile, and the grouping detail page reports the state of every member cluster in one place.

A GitOps repository cannot target a cluster grouping. In the GitOps repository wizard, select **All Clusters** or an individual cluster. A repository that already targets a grouping keeps that target when you edit it. See [Create GitOps Repositories](https://zededa.mintlify.site/new-ui/infrastructure-services/edge-kubernetes/create-gitops-repositories.md).

Cluster groupings are immutable after creation. You can delete a grouping but cannot edit it.

## Create a Cluster Grouping

To create a cluster grouping:

1. In the sidebar, select **Infrastructure > Fleet > Kubernetes**. Select the **Cluster Groupings** tab. If the tab does not appear, see the preceding note about tab availability.
2. Select **Create Grouping**.
3. Complete the three-step wizard described in the following sections.

### Cluster details

1. Enter a value in the **Name** field. This is the unique identifier for the grouping.
2. Enter a value in the **Title** field. This is the human-readable display name.
3. Select a value in the **Project** field to associate the grouping with a project.
4. Optionally, enter a **Description** and add **Tags**.
5. Select **Continue**.

### Selection

1. In the **Clusters** field, search for and select the clusters to include in the grouping.
2. Select **Continue**.

### Review and add

1. Review the grouping configuration.
2. Select **Add** to create the grouping.

The new grouping appears in the Cluster Groupings list.

## View Grouping Status

The Cluster Groupings list shows the following columns: **Status**, **Name**, **Cluster Ready**, **Project**, and **Age**.

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Online** | The grouping is operational. |
| **Healthy** | All clusters in the grouping are healthy. |
| **Suspect** | The grouping has been flagged for investigation. It might still be operational, but one or more clusters are not behaving as expected. Check individual cluster status. |
| **Partially Healthy** | Some clusters are healthy but others are not. Check individual cluster status. |
| **Unhealthy** | One or more clusters are reporting issues. |
| **Offline** | The grouping is not reachable. |
| **Error** | The grouping has entered an error state. |
| **Failed** | A lifecycle operation failed. |
| **Unknown** | The status cannot be determined. |

Select a grouping name from the list to open its detail page. The detail page has two tabs: **Details** and **Config**.

The **Details** tab provides the following status information:

* The **Status** tile shows the overall health of the grouping.
* The **Age** tile shows how long the grouping has existed.
* The **Clusters Ready** tile shows how many clusters in the grouping are in a ready state.

The **Resources Summary** section displays the aggregate resource state across all clusters in the grouping. Resources are classified into the following states:

| State | Description |
| - | - |
| **Missing** | Resources that are expected but not found. |
| **Modified** | Resources that differ from the desired state. |
| **Not Ready** | Resources that exist but are not yet operational. |
| **Orphaned** | Resources that are no longer tracked by a deployment. |
| **Ready** | Resources that are deployed and healthy. |
| **Unknown** | Resources whose state cannot be determined. |
| **Wait Applied** | Resources that are pending application. |

The clusters table below the summary shows per-cluster detail with the following columns: **State**, **Name**, **Bundle Ready**, **Repos Ready**, **Resources**, **Last Seen**, and **Age**.

## Delete a Cluster Grouping

1. In the Cluster Groupings list, open the row menu for the grouping you want to remove.
2. Select **Delete cluster grouping**.
3. Confirm the deletion.

Deleting a grouping does not affect the individual clusters that were members of the grouping.
